North Carolina is a state located in the southeastern United StatesThe state borders South Carolina on the south, Georgia on the southwest, Tennessee on the west, Virginia on the north, and the Atlantic Ocean on the east. Raleigh is the capital city of North Carolina, and Charlotte is the largest city. From 2008, North Carolina has been the fastest growing state in the United States.



North Carolina was the 12th state in the United States. it became a state on November 21, 1789. North Carolina's state abbreviation is NC. The state occupies a total area of 53,821 square miles. North Carolina is the 28th biggest state in the United StatesNorth Carolina is the 11th most populous state in the United States.
